EPP Document Last Call Issue Summary
The EPP document set has been updated to address comments received during and after the WG last call period. This is a summary of the comments received and how they were addressed in the new documents. Here's a link to the last call announcement: http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-11/msg00037.html The description below will note comments that resulted in document changes. Please see the "Revisions" section of each document for pointers to the specific document sections that were changed as a result of implementing the changes. On to the comments in the order they were received... http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-11/msg00038.html All implemented except for "Adding elements to the domain mapping to support delegation to hosts that do not or should not need to exist as host objects" and "make the <msg> element OPTIONAL in the <result> element". Discussion around both of these suggestions led in different directions. Text was added to the domain mapping document to describe external host handling, and there were objections to the <msg> element suggestion. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-11/msg00041.html Fix to the ROID pattern; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-11/msg00043.html Adding <authInfo> to the <transfer> query command; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00002.html Replacement of references to ISO documents where possible; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00012.html Change to the way internationalized and localized contact postal info is exchanged; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00014.html Text fix in <check> command description; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00016.html Data collection policy changes; implemented. Poll response format changes; implemented. Content length header in TCP transport; implemented. Contact transfers related to domain transfers; nothing done as there was no agreement on there even being an issue. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00018.html External host description and processing requirements; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00030.html Empty text element processing; implemented. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2001-12/msg00041.html "type" attribute in <poll> response; not implemented as subsequent discussion described already-present alternatives. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2002-01/msg00022.html <authInfo> use with <info> command; compromise implemented. Security considerations updated in the domain and contact mappings. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2002-01/msg00036.html MX record provisioning; taken off-list for later action. For those who wanted to follow this, it hasn't gone anywhere yet. http://www.cafax.se/ietf-provreg/maillist/2002-01/msg00067.html Notification assertions; implemented. Other cross-document changes made as a result of proofreading: Fixed typos, separated references into normative and informative sections, changes to "must", "may" etc. to avoid confusion with RFC 2119 directives. Core protocol proofreading fixes: Fixed a schema error that limited <extension> child elements to a single extension, and fixed another schema error that limited version numbers to single digits. Contact mapping proofreading fixes: Changed type of email and telephone number types to "token" from "normalizedString" since these values should never contain certain acceptable normalizedString characters. Domain mapping proofreading fixes: Fixed <info> and <renew> response descriptions to note that the <exDate> element is (and has been) OPTIONAL per the schema. Minor text change in section 2.3 to avoid use of the term "zone" when describing clientHold and serverHold status. Host mapping proofreading fixes: Added text to section 2.5 to reinforce that IP addresses aren't always required when a host is provisioned for use as a DNS name server. Updated IPv6 address references. -Scott-
