Re: Interim Meeting
I want to emphasize what Scott posted on this thread: > Nothing is ever decided with finality at face-to-face IETF meetings -- > consensus decisions are made using mailing lists like this one. The meeting will have a posted agenda, one has already been proposed on the list (check the archives). The meeting will also have minutes, just as all regular IETF meetings do. Recall that we are 'calendar squeezed' for this meeting. Many of us are involved in other activities - ICANN and APRICOT meet between now and the IETF. As far as scheduling the meeting - The DC location was chosen after consideration in a thread. (Again, check the archives.) I started the motion to set the meeting in place on Jan. 20, the first day after I heard that our charter had been sent to the IESG. The latest we would be allowed to hold a meeting would be Feb 23, or we'd be running to close to the IETF main meeting (not to mention APRICOT and ICANN conflicts). Given that we wanted as much notice possible, that pretty much put us around Feb 20. As far as airfare from Seattle (sorry, Chris, I couldn't resist the challenge): Southwest air flights: 244/133 on Feb 19 (leaves SeaTac 1pm, change in KC, lands BWI 10:45pm) 113/2359 on Feb 21 (leaves BWI 7:55am, change in Phoenix, lands S/T 3:40pm) Total cost: $431 (including taxes), no Sat stayover needed. (I just got these prices on there web site.) BWI is about 60 miles from the meeting. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis NAI Labs Phone: +1 443-259-2352 Email: lewis@tislabs.com Dilbert is an optimist.
