Meeting notice and other proto-WG items
Officially we are still in limbo, but we are getting close. First, a few of us are working towards setting up an interim meeting in the Washington DC area on or about Feb 21. The closet airport is Dulles (IAD). You may want to either being making arrangements for this or keep an eye out for the announcement on ietf-announce. (Making ietf-announce is important because that reaches a wider audience than just this list.) Second, our charter is now "before" the IESG. They meet in a few days to discuss it. I sent the charter as it was on this list about 1-2 weeks ago, but I will need to edit it - e.g., to remove the references to the draft documents. (Drafts get retired, hence they aren't really eligible to be refered documents.) More changes may be needed in response to the IESG comments. Third, I am trying to get a 1-hour meeting slot at the Minneapolis IETF. (BTW, http://www.ietf.org will have information on that meeting beginning Monday the 22nd.) PS - For the interim meeting, I am thinking of starting around 10am and going the full day (about 5pm). For those arriving from Europe, there are a number of flights departing Dulles around 6pm (1800) for Europe, so if there is a desire to shut the meeting down earlier we can try to accomodate this. I think the agenda will be: Agenda bashing: (short) WG status: (short) The EPP proposal Other proposals Discussion of forming a design team Other topics that might be useful are short presentations on how some registries operate with regards to registrars (I doubt that we'd have time for good coverage of that though), security concerns (privacy as opposed to transactions), extensibility of the protocol to other (non-domain name) data. Let me know what should be on the agenda... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis NAI Labs Phone: +1 443-259-2352 Email: lewis@tislabs.com Dilbert is an optimist.
