You can pretty much find out anything about any network that is routed on the Net (and a bunch of others, too) via whois queries. The format is not coherent, it is not scalable, but it is there. That together with a decent public looking-glass will tell the interested person pretty much anything you might want to know. DNS need not be applied in this process, it is merely the pretty-traceroute icing on an already sweet cake of data.
