Name servers offering recursive service ought to serve the zones listed herein. When I have been giving DNS tutorials, I use the example of having a root hints file, a (master) localhost file and a (master) 0.0.127.in-addr.arpa file. I should expand the material on recursive servers to suggest being authoritative for all the listed zones. For authoritative only servers, perhaps this is not as important, but should be a suggestion. For recursive servers, this is a significant suggestion. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis +1-703-227-9854 ARIN Research Engineer #---------------------------------------------------------------------- # To unsubscribe, send a message to <dnsop-request@cafax.se>.
