From a rough scan of the debug output I think that at least my nameserver/resolver running BIND 8.2.3 feels sent into an endless loop by these references and thus generates the "SERVFAIL". Maybe it is more appropriate to discuss this on a BIND related list. There's no magic here with port 53 sourced queries. -Peter
